Indian Cinema and Theatre is bidding eternal farewell to Bollywood Legend Zohra Sehgal. Zohra Sehgal has contributed to Indian Cinema and Theatre as an actress, dancer and choreographer. She was born in 1912 at Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and entered Indian cinema in 1946 as an actress. He acted in many hindi serials too. Indian government honoured Zohra with Padma Sri in 1998 and Padma Vibhushan in 2010. She passed away at the age of 102 following prolonged ailment.
She is known as ‘Grand Old Lady of Bollywood’ She acted in many hit films like Cheeni kum, Saawariya, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Veer-Zaara, Dil Se and Bend it like Beckham (English). She also acted in the recent ‘Chennai Express’
She is being given a grand farewell by all film fraternity with state honours on Friday. Amitabh Bachchan expressed grief on her demise and shared his bondage with the legend.
