    Kshetram Movie Review

Director T Venuogopal takes up the theme in Kshetram but fails miserably. The treatment is shabby and production values are poor.Kshetram is quite a lot like Arundhati barring the religious factor. Unlike Arundhati, though, there's no logic to the events that occur. It has a rural backdrop and has all the cliched rural elements -- feudalism, stranglehold of religion, superstitious beliefs, inter-family rivalry...In essence, Kshetram is the conquest of good over evil. Yet it seems regressive and out of sync especially for an urban audience. Neither the story nor the screenplay is convincing.Steer clear of Kshetram!

Within first five minutes of the film, one begins to get a feeling that they are being made a ‘Bakra’ and by the time the film is halfway, the ‘Bakra’ is ready for ‘Bali’.The thought from the director is good but there is not a single point where he can be patted for his execution. It was amazingly amateur. Sometimes, the film looked like ‘Chandramukhi’ and sometimes, it looked like ‘Arundhati’.Overall, this is a film which has no content, no proper handling of the script and there is nothing notable that any class of audience can connect to.This ‘Kshetram’ needs no ‘Darshan’..

The plot of this movie is good enough to be a commercial film which would work with the masses. However, the bad execution has been the biggest flaw. Screenplay of the film is absolutely pathetic. Director failed to bring out the right emotions in many scenes. Most part of the film looks like a television serial with bad shot making and poor production values.Kshetram is targeted at the C center crowds and they may like few scenes. On a whole everyone would be disappointed with this amateurish film. Kshetramis a rare film which has nothing to rave about including the performances.
