THE DIFFICULTY OF LOSING WEIGHT

  • You made it your New Year’s Resolution. In fact, it has been your New Year’s Resolution for the last five years and yet you have not fulfilled it. Losing weight is easy to promise to yourself, making it happen is another story. Nothing happens and you wonder what happened to that promise. Well, you might be missing the larger picture. It is better that you look at the reasons why you can’t or why you didn’t and do something about it at the earliest possible time.


    1. Bad eating habits. It could be that what you are eating actually makes you fatter than skinnier. It could also be that the frequency of your meals is very much opposed to your system. The most common fallacy for people who want to slim down is to skip meals. Little do they know that it is better to eat smaller meals five times a day than to have one big snack and skipping the rest. If you want to lose weight, start eating properly.

    2. Lack of physical exercise. Due to our busy lifestyle and reliance on instant solutions to our needs, we tend to be lazy in exerting energy doing chores or activities. Instead of walking, we prefer to get a ride. Instead of cooking, we opt for microwavable high-calorie foods. Thus, it is must be borne in mind that regular exercise is essential to boost your metabolism and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

    3. Wrong attitude. To lose weight, you must be emotionally and intellectually ready for it. You must be determined so that nothing can destroy your focus. You must ready yourself about possible change of habits. Do not let negative thoughts get in the way of achieving your goals of being slimmer.

    4. Slow metabolism and medical illness. People have varying metabolic rate. Some have fast while some don’t. However, there are solutions to this dilemma like eating breakfast, doing exercise and avoiding overeating. You must regularly undergo medical check-up to watch out your health and to promote early detection of any illness.

    5. External influences. To achieve positive results, you must surround yourself with positive people who encourage you to accomplish your goal of losing weight. You must be inspired not to gain admiration from people around but to gain self-confidence.
