How to be a new you in 2014

  • Every New Year gives us fresh start in order to become a better us than we were the previous year. It has been a tradition for some to prepare their new year’s resolutions only to give up on them after a few months. Interestingly, one does not really need a new year’s resolution. All it takes is a positive attitude and a leap of faith to make things happen. The following strategies may of valuable help:


    1. Leave all the negative things of 2013 behind. There is nothing you can do about it. You cannot undo what has been done. So, make a clean start and keep moving forward.

    2. Try something new and different. If you keep on doing the same things, running the same routine, chances are you will get the same results. Therefore, if you want to experience some changes in your life to make you a better person, you got to get out of your comfort zone and dare to live differently.

    3. Forge realistic expectations. Expectations, when so high, may lead to disappointments. Thus, to prevent this, you must lower your expectations. Start with small goals before you delve into bigger ones. Remember, even a small step can mean something.

    4. Lean on motivational support. Truth is we cannot accomplish everything alone. We need the support of our family and friends to keep us going. Since they are always there to be by your side through good or bad, always maintain a healthy relationship with them. With that, you create a happy and healthy environment.

    5. Surround yourself with positive vibes. A negative mind cannot create a positive life as they say. So, in your pursuit to turn goals into accomplishments, set your mind towards achieving it and wonderful things will happen in the end. It must be borne in mind that you are the captain of your own ship, what you think and what you do will create the new you.
